Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is California's oldest surviving amusement park, stretching along a wide sandy beach with the Pacific Ocean as its backdrop. Since 1907, its wooden roller coaster, the Giant Dipper, has been thrilling riders with its classic drops and turns. The Looff Carousel, a National Historic Landmark, still spins with its original hand-carved horses and a 1909 organ. You can ride a coaster, eat cotton candy, and then walk straight onto the sand — no gates, no entry fee, just the ocean and the carnival lights.
