Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This page explains how refunds and cancellations work on YiCircle. It expands on section 8.3 of the Terms of Service, which governs if the two ever disagree.
1. Who you are buying from
YiCircle is a platform. When you pay for an event, the organizer is the seller — not YiCircle. YiCircle is not the organizer, employer, agent, or guarantor of any event listed by someone else, and is not a party to the underlying transaction.
Payments are processed by Stripe. YiCircle collects a platform service fee.
2. Which cancellation terms apply to your booking
The terms shown on that event, before you paid, are the ones that govern your booking.
Organizers of paid events set their own refund schedule when they publish, and it is displayed on the event page and at checkout. A schedule usually looks like:
Full refund up to 7 days before · 50% up to 3 days before · no refund after that
Read it before you pay. If you are unsure what applies to a booking you already made, open the order — the terms you agreed to are recorded there.
Events run by YiCircle itself carry their own published schedule, shown the same way and in the same place.
3. If the organizer cancels
If an organizer cancels an event, for any reason — including weather, low turnout, or their own circumstances — you are eligible for a full refund of what you paid for it, including the YiCircle platform fee and the payment-processing fee described in section 5.
The organizer's published refund schedule does not apply here. That schedule governs your change of mind, not theirs.
4. If YiCircle cancels
If YiCircle removes or cancels an event, you receive a full refund on the same terms as section 3.
5. How to request a refund
- Open the order and submit a refund request.
- The request goes to the organizer, who can approve or decline it.
- You can see the status of your requests at any time.
- If you disagree with the outcome, you can escalate the request to YiCircle.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. How long the money takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer, not on YiCircle.
The payment-processing fee
Stripe charges a fee to process your card, and Stripe does not return that fee when a payment is refunded. Somebody has to absorb it. Who that is depends on who ended the booking:
| Who cancelled | What you receive |
|---|---|
| You — you changed your mind, or can no longer attend | Your refund under the organizer's published schedule, less the payment-processing fee |
| The organizer — any reason, including weather | Everything you paid |
| YiCircle | Everything you paid |
The fee is charged once, on the original payment, so a partial refund carries only the matching share of it. On a $40 ticket whose processing fee was $1.46:
Schedule gives you 100% back — $40.00 − $1.46 = $38.54 Schedule gives you 50% back — $20.00 − $0.73 = $19.27 (half the refund, so half the fee)
Where we cannot determine the exact fee, we refund the full amount without deducting anything.
The YiCircle platform fee is returned to you in all three cases.
6. Disputes and chargebacks
If something goes wrong, please contact us before filing a dispute with your card issuer. A chargeback moves the decision to your bank and the card network, where the outcome is theirs to determine under their rules and Stripe's dispute process — and it is usually slower than simply asking us.
YiCircle may, in good faith, help a buyer and an organizer reach a resolution. Doing so does not make YiCircle a party to the transaction.
7. Organizer responsibilities
Organizers are responsible for honoring the cancellation terms they published, delivering the event as described, and responding to refund requests. Where permitted by law and by Stripe's rules, YiCircle may recover refunded amounts from an organizer's connected account or future payouts.
