Community Guidelines

YiCircle is for meeting people nearby and doing things together. That only works if it feels safe. These guidelines apply everywhere on YiCircle — posts, comments, photos, chat, events, listings, reviews, and profiles.

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Accounts that post it are removed.

What is not allowed

  • Harassment and bullying — targeting, intimidating, stalking, or piling on another person.
  • Hate — attacking or demeaning people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
  • Sexual content — pornography, sexually explicit imagery, or sexual solicitation. Any sexual content involving a minor is reported to the authorities.
  • Violence and threats — threatening, inciting, or glorifying violence, or promoting self-harm or suicide.
  • Illegal goods and activity — drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, stolen property, or fraud.
  • Scams and spam — deceptive schemes, phishing, bulk unsolicited messaging, or manipulating ratings and reviews.
  • Impersonation and misrepresentation — pretending to be someone else, or faking an affiliation, credential, or identity.
  • Privacy violations — posting someone's personal information, or images of someone in a private setting, without their consent.
  • Unsafe meetups — using events or buddy matching to lure, deceive, or endanger someone.

How we enforce this

We filter. Images are checked on your device before upload on iOS, and again on our servers with automated moderation. Text posted to public areas is checked automatically as well.

You can report. Every post, comment, message, profile, event, and listing has a report option. Tap the "..." menu on the item and choose Report.

You can block. Blocking someone stops them from messaging you, seeing your content, or interacting with you. Open their profile and choose Block.

We act within 24 hours. We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. When a report is upheld we remove the content and remove the account that posted it. Serious violations result in an immediate permanent ban without warning.

You can appeal. Automated systems make mistakes. If you believe a moderation decision about your content was wrong, email support@yicircle.com and a person will review it.

Emergencies

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then report it to us at safety@yicircle.com so we can preserve evidence and act on the account.
